Report Job Campaign ActivityHow much of what has produced the responses? |

To effectively use the Merrill-Adams service, I need to get regular campaign activity reports from you. Email is preferred to garyames@ActiveJobSearch.com. I will provide you with 3 different reporting options, from simple to complex to describe your activity for the past 2 weeks. In the first method, simply count your number of outgoing communications. Use the list below of methods to generate interviews. Do not confine your campaign to the top of this list! · Respond to Newspaper Ads including Recruiters’ Ads. · Respond to Internet Ads including Recruiters’ Ads · Contact Recruiters Directly. · Contact Companies Directly. Campaign materials and phone. · Spot Opportunity Letters or Special Focus Proposals. · Outgoing Telephone Calls and Follow-up. · Networking Chats. · Full Informational Meetings (See Chapter 4) · Personal Appearances at Events. The second reporting mechanism is to use your Campaign Action Plan spreadsheet: “Schedule of Campaign Activities to Generate Interviews.” The bottom of each category has an “actual” line at the bottom for how many of this category. Fill in the budgeted vs. actual numbers. Third, is the Quality-Quantity sheet. You could summarize with just Quality and Quantity by correspondence vs. conversation. This model has blank links for the number of outgoing communications within each marketing method by media: fax, email, letter, phone, visit, etc. It is diagnostically useful to take the total number of contacts over the period and divide up the activities on this Quality-Quantity. model. For example how many of your networking meetings were Full Informational Meetings, how many were Chats? How many of these meetings were on the telephone versus in person. Basically I want to know what activities, at what level, with what media have generated how many results. Notice of rejection is irrelevant. A good report will highlight for me where the richest opportunities exist for improving the number and quality of job interviews with decision makers who can most likely use your full array of professional talents, skills, and abilities. Most helpful is a best example. Describe the best networking meeting or phone conversation. I’ll let you know if there are ways to raise the ceiling on the best. What frustrations do you have? Or what are you having to tolerate? What resources have been helpful or what resources are needed? Let me know what you think you need to be more effective in campaigning. I prefer not to give unsought advice and un-needed training. I will usually respond to reports with on-target answers to questions, or specific advice to solve campaigning problems, or ways to improve results with a method. Your feedback is important to our partnership for success. |
